Commodore C / Rekord E
Now things were really getting modern: with MacPherson struts on the front axle and engines featuring L-Jetronic—and later Le-Jetronic—fuel injection systems, the Rekord E and the Commodore C scored big! Based on the luxury-class Senator A, these models were, however, still equipped with a solid rear axle. Due to its great success, the Rekord E remained in production for nearly ten years.
