This tool has been sent to us vintage-Opel mechanics from heaven!
To date almost anything was used, in order to fix the flywheel by the gear change, or even worse, when loosening the front screw in the forged crankshaft, but now all these bricolage-solutions belong to the past! This small marvel is simply stuck into one of the small fixation pins next to the flywheel and the flywheel is perfectly fixed.
This instrument is suitable for all 4- & 6-cylinder cih engines, as well as the 24V and also the OHC machines. With a decent galvanised surface a 'must have' for the ambitious craftsman and a purchase for life :-) Usage see picture 3.
