We are putting our foot down for the final sprint of the 2014 season

The holiday is over and our batteries are full again, which means that we can head into the last third of the 2014 season at full throttle. Our boot is full of new items for the edelschmiede. To start off with, my very own hobby horse, the cable harness for our Spal radiator fans.

We had these constructed especially for our rear-wheel-drives. With this piece, it is possible even for an enthusiastic amateur to electrically connect the radiator to the on-board power supply. The only thing that requires the expertise of the heating or cooling specialist around the corner is the job of soldering the brass sleeve for the temperature switch onto the cooler itself. Through the use of a very efficient temperature switch, it is possible for us to completely do away with a relay. This helps keep the cable harness nice and thin, removing an additional source of error from the process.

Thus, it only needs the +12V contact directly from the generator and a bit of earthing contact to the car body. Then simply plug in the radiator fan itself, the temperature switch to the cooler and the whole set is fully wired up. – In order to cater to all the different thermostats, we naturally offer temperature switches with different cut-in temperatures. In general, the temperature switch switches at approx. 8°C ABOVE the opening temperature of the installed thermostat insert. This can be comfortably adjusted in 5°C steps in your own rear-wheel-drive. In case you have only just realised that you like the idea of an electric radiator fan, we also offer two “all-round carefree packages”, which contain all the required parts for exactly this bonus part. One in the ’blowing’ design, for installation IN FRONT of the cooler , and one in the ’sucking’ design, for installation BEHIND the cooler. You can choose your preferred option, or rather the option that fits in the space provided by your rear-wheel-drive.

New: “Delco Remy” master brake cylinder for Ascona / Manta / Kadett

And the list continues with more cooling items. In this case, it is more to ensure that the driver keeps a cool head, with properly functioning brakes! With this ATE Main brake cylinder for all Delco brake boosters in Opel Ascona A & B, Manta A & B , Kadett C, etc.. We probably should offer you a small explanation at this point: an ATE main brake cylinder for a Delco brake booster?!? Yes, you read that right; this is a main brake cylinder for the Delco brake booster, the one with the larger connecting flange of approx. 85mm on the brake booster.

ATE built this main brake cylinder for our Mantas, Asconas & Kadetts brilliantly, as the features of this part are exemplary. Not just the reservoir cap, but also the reservoir itself and the backpressure valve for the brake circuit are on board! With a piston diameter of 20.64mm, this is suitable for all original brakes.

An item that has already been advertised here and, more importantly, which is regularly asked for, is the screws for the front axle of the Kadett C. We have arranged five screw sets with which you can connect the complete Kadett C front axle to itself and then to the car body, regardless of whether it is an OHV or cih. The screws are all in 10.9 quality and in the original design.

For the bargain hunters amongst us, we have a complete set for 69.95€ in stock, in addition to the five individual sets, which have been thoughtfully assembled, as per usual:

’Deluxe’ generator tensioner is back

The best is famously saved for last, as is the case here: The generator tensioner deluxe is back! Unfortunately, for a long time we have had to refuse the many enquiries into the availability of this part. But now the stores are once again full with these excellent parts for our four- and six-cylinder cih engines. Delivered as a complete installation kit, this replaces the original upper retainer for the generator. This also ensures that you will no longer have any problems with precisely adjusting the fan belt. To round out the whole thing, we have also assembled another set for you, the “installation kit for the under generator“. With this set the whole generator will once again be perfectly mounted and screwed in place.

That’s about all for now, but there are even more new, attractive parts in the shop ready for inspection, such as a heating regulator for Kadett C, a set of bolts with seal rings for the gearstick in Getrag transmission, or a seals set for the fixed caliper, all once again available…

…see you in the web-shop 😉
