When you remove the “neck” from the large cih rear axle, these two parts are usually conspicuous by their absence: the rubber stop buffer and the accompanying metal washer. Because the material is not oil-resistant, the rubber washer has disintegrated inside the drive shaft and is now, at best, just a dark sludge. The metal washer has also become deformed due to the resulting play. You can get both of these parts here again, in excellent quality—and now oil-resistant :-)
If you’re not sure where these washers are located, Figure 4 shows that they are housed in the drive shaft near the bevel gear of the differential input and are designed to dampen any impacts of the drive shaft against the rear axle neck.
