Commodore B / Rekord D

This early 70?s Opel, called the ?Rekord II? in the adverts, was not particularly technically innovative. However, aesthetically the Rekord D and the Commodore B fit perfectly in the seventies. Clean lines were very important and the striking front with its shark-look swiftly found favour in the upper middle class. With its vinyl roof, tan velour interior, automatic transmission and a trailer bar, you were able to score easy points with your neighbours. Even today you will find one or two pedestrians gazing longingly after a passing Commodore, even after the 4-door limousine with its 115PS weak basic motorisation?
