Commodore B / Rekord D
This early 70’s Opel, called the “Rekord II” in the adverts, was not particularly technically innovative. However, aesthetically the Rekord D and the Commodore B fit perfectly in the seventies. Clean lines were very important and the striking front with its shark-look swiftly found favour in the upper middle class. With its vinyl roof, tan velour interior, automatic transmission and a trailer bar, you were able to score easy points with your neighbours.
