Digital construction work in the edelschmiede

We need more space! Of the digital kind. And more performance. These are concepts that aren’t directly related to our more analogue hobby, but are sometimes necessary all the same.
Our brand new server is ready to go and our merchandise management is also getting a big update, to turbo-charge it, if you will. At the moment, we are just hitting the limits of our available performance. By which I don’t mean those of us in the office, production and delivery sectors, rather in the IT department. The technicians will be starting work on Thursday afternoon, from which time onwards nothing more will work here in the edelschmiede. This means that at around 3pm on Thursday, we will switch the answering machine over to “after hours mode” and will also be unavailable on the Friday (27.11.2015). This also means that we will not be shipping anything on Friday. Anything bought from Thursday afternoon onwards will first be shipped on Monday. So, this gives you a free weekend, allowing you to spend the first Advent with your families, rather than in the garage 😉

We, or rather I, will set up the software after the update is complete and will return all parameters to their correct settings, so that on Monday everything is back to normal and Conni and Martin can send out all orders into the big, wide world from right here in the edelschmiede.

New IT naturally means new products, too

Even with the old server we were naturally hard at work and have integrated a few new items into our shop. The highlight is easily the new cable harness for the 4-cylinder cih transistor ignition, but our screw sets are also very popular. For this reason, we have added two more to our catalogue. Available as of now are a M7 screw set for the timing case and the water pump in 24V (C30SE) engines and a screw set for mounting the floating brake calliper to the steering knuckle. Other than that, the first of our own rubber reproductions are finally on the shelves, specifically both rubber grommets, that sit in front of and behind the clutch damper. These are available individually or as part of a set, which can be purchased under the name of “installation set for the clutch cable”. The small rubber grommets for the radiator grill are also finally here. We had these in stock ages ago, back then they were still remnant stock directly from Opel, which we sourced from all over Europe. Now we have reissued our own. Several other small parts, as well as large, are also available on top of that, but have a look for yourself in the edelschmiede web-shop – we are currently tinkering with it, too, so in the next few days even more items will appear…

Wishing you a happy holiday season,

Thomas
